ZipHub

ZipHub is a commerce search platform (CSP), bridging the gap between consumers, businesses, and charities through localized deals and providing donations to the communities they serve. ZipHub is a daily routine for savvy consumers to shop and save. Local businesses offer unique deals to members of ZipHub. Consumer members of ZipHub direct 10% of the revenue they generate for advertisers to their non-profits or charities of choice.

Three experiences in one app

Ziphub came to Spiral Scout initially to design and develop their consumer app in React Native so it would work with one code base on iOS and Android devices. Since then, we have written up numerous technical spec documents that outlined the entire project's scope, which helped organize major stakeholders and the entire engineering team. In addition, we designed a number of screens around their Consumer, Advertiser and Charity user experience.

The business design challenge

The first set of designs revolved around Businesses (Advertisers) who were looking to leverage Ziphub's platform to reach new customers. We had to think about a number of paths that would lead businesses to Ziphub and all the different ways a business would be onboarded via the site or from a sales team ie. did they claim their business listing, were they introduced by a salesperson, did they find ZH via a search engine, etc.? We designed screens that laid out the most important parts a business would want to share with a customer and then created a simple, step by step, process to create deals or coupons they could offer to potential customers. The business could display their company information and deals on the microsite specifically made for them.

The consumer experience

The consumer experience

The next user experience focused on the consumer and how they would uncover, search, save and use deals they found on ZH. The major challenge was thinking like the consumer in order to plan out the best way to organize our deals, to offer the best local and relevant search results, and make sure we had a way for consumers to easily use the deals. We designed a way for consumers to view unique coupon codes, save these coupons and designate a charity they would like to benefit from a portion of the advertising money Ziphub collected from businesses. 

The charity user experience

The third user experience on Ziphub was related to charities, who are able to set up an account and create a microsite to promote their cause. Charities are able to accept donations from consumers who generate advertising money for ZH. A consumer chooses which charities will get a portion of the advertising money generated by their activity on ZH and ZH will direct those donations to the selected charities.
