REVAMPING A LUXURY KITCHENWARE BRAND: ENHANCING USER EXPERIENCE AND BRAND IDENTITY
Client
The client approached us needing to update the visual and functional aspects of their site. Their primary objectives were to highlight brand styles, increase brand recognition, and improve the user experience. Additionally, they required the project to be completed within a tight deadline and aimed to enhance the site's overall performance.
To achieve these goals, the client wanted us to implement a comprehensive redesign that would not only refresh the site's look and feel but also optimize it for better usability and faster load times.
Client business is creating and distributing an exclusive luxury brand of kitchenware.
The client made a focus on the B2C and small B2B segments.
The client's audience is individuals who value the quality and exclusivity of things, as well as large and medium-sized companies engaged in the design of events and meetings
Challenge
The theme had many bugs (for example, when you click on esc, all the actions on the buttons broke, there were looped requests on the collection page, which led to the page freezing) and legacy code. The design was made inconvenient for developers (font sizes and indentations had to be calculated). The design was often changed by the designer and the customer (the appearance of sections, paddings and effects changed).
The main problem was that the requirements were not final (especially the typography), so we decided to move this to the last part of development.
Another issue was that the site had several UX and performance issues.
While working on the project, we remembered that UX is an important part of this product and we are focused on improving everything we have.
Strategy
The key points were the strong and experienced dev team of SpiralScout and our guarantee of meeting deadlines with the main scope of work.
This was not a project from scratch, but a redesign of the existing site. So we had two options
a) Use default theme and rewrite everything completely
b) Apply the new design to the existing core codebase
Since option a) was longer and more expensive, we decided to go with option b), considering the tough deadline, integration with applications (for example, shogun), and a large number of products.
Solutions
We took the current theme and updated the pages (home, collections, products and about us), updated the side menu, navigation and cart, fixed critical bugs and theme settings.
The main benefit of our solution choice was a smoothly enchanting size with a new design to allow customers to focus on critical parts first and complete our scope further. Our flexible work approach allows the client to see intermediate progress on each step and influence the development process
- Investigate the requirements and design to build our development and distribution plan
- Focusing on the main pages and functionality on the site gives customers more value
- The Client had no strong decision about sites typography so we decided to mo it on the last part of work
- Developing step-by-step to cover all requirements and scope
- Improving amin experience on the site during development
- Quality Assurance bug testing
- Release and sharing feedback from the customer
Results
We were able to save time on setting up integrations and updating previously created pages. The SpSc team completed all assigned tasks and met the clients’ expectations. Our initial part took 8-9 weeks. Our focus on workflow flexibility and enhanced user experience enables clients to improve their business in the long term continually.
We have speeded up the work of the most important parts of the site (working with the product and cart) and also improved the administrator's experience in the CMS part.
